Reece Topley

Reece Topley’s injury a major setback for RCB as they beat MI by 8 wickets

Injury issues continue to plague the teams on Day 3 of the IPL 2023. With Kane Williamson’s injury, Royal Challengers Bangalore face a major injury problem after Reece Topley was injured while fielding.

After hurting his right shoulder, England pacer Reece Topley was carried off the pitch by RCB physio. RCB’s injury concerns grow as Topley joins Josh Hazlewood and Rajat Patidar on the injured list. According to the latest reports, Topley has a shoulder DISLOCATION and has been ruled out for a few games.

Kane Williamson suffered a knee injury during Gujarat Titans’ opener against Chennai Super Kings, ruling the New Zealand hitter out of the competition.

It’s the latest in a string of physical problems for Reece Topley. The left-hander battled back difficulties for four years, undergoing surgery and questioning his love for the game. Last year, he missed the men’s T20 World Cup after sustaining ankle ligament damage during a fielding drill ahead of a warm-up match against Pakistan on the eve of the event in Australia.

The results of Topley’s additional tests will be of interest to both Surrey, whose T20 Blast season begins on May 25, and England, for whom the 29-year-old has an incremental contract.

Topley’s injury appeared to be serious, according to the Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik, who spoke on JioCinema after the sweeping win.

“It (the shoulder) came out, then it went back in.” I believe he went for a scan during the game. He’s not in as much agony as we anticipated. “We’ll have to wait and see,” Karthik remarked after the game.

The incident didn’t affect RCB much as they went on to destroy Mumbai Indians by 8 wickets.
