Cricket News: Hardik Pandya to lead Team Indi in T20 against West Indies

Cricket News: Hardik Pandya is expected to captain Team India in the T20 series against the West Indies, as selectors continue to evaluate young players for the 2023 World Cup.

Due to the fact that they haven’t participated in a T201 match since the 2022 T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will not be included in the squad.

Ishan Kishan or Yashasvi Jaiswal are likely to open the innings with Shubman Gill. Yashasvi, who had a strong IPL season, is probably going to get his first T20I call-up.

Suryakumar Yadav and Rahul Tripathi will continue to bat in the middle order, and Jitesh Sharma, who took Sanju Samson’s place in the 2023 T20I team, is anticipated to keep his position.

Ravindra Jadeja may be rested in the all-rounder category, leaving Washington Sundar as the lone spin bowling all-rounder. On the basis of their IPL performances, Mohit Sharma and Tushar Deshpande are expected to be included to the pace attack, along with a few other changes. The spin attack will be led by Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav.

Since Kohli and Rohit are not participating in the T20I series against the West Indies, it appears that their attention will be on the 2023 ODI World Cup.

The selection committee has thought about rewarding IPL performers while benching individuals who had trouble in the league.

India’s likely squad for West Indies T20I Series: Hardik Pandya (C), Surya Kumar Yadav (VC), Shubman Gill, Yashaswi Jaiswal, Ishan Kishan, Rahul Tripathi, Jitesh Sharma, Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar, Shivam Mavi, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Tushar Deshpande, Arshdeep Singh, Mohit Sharma
