BCCI has revealed its contract list for the 2022-2023 cricket season with some new names making the list while some senior statesmen dropped.
The most recent BCCI yearly player contracts for the 2022–2023 season substantially benefited all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, and Hardik Pandya.
After several disappointing performances, KL Rahul was dropped to Grade B.
The BCCI gave contracts to 26 cricketers in four groups, leaving out pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ajinkya Rahane, and Ishant Sharma. The senior trio’s chances of playing for the national team appear to be over after they were removed from the contract list and their names were no longer included.
The BCCI contract list is divided into four tiers, with salaries for “A+” players at INR 7 crore, “A” players at INR 5 crore, “B” players at INR 3 crore, and “C” players at INR 1 crore.
Axar and Hardik were promoted from Grade C and Grade B, respectively, to Grade A, while Jadeja, who currently holds the top spot in the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s Test all-rounder rankings, moved up from Grade A to Grade A+.
The other top-tier stars are Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma.
